Graphical Password Verification Using Recognition-based Technique for password authentication
ABSTRACT
Nowadays, user authentication is the one of the important topic in information security. Strong text-based password scheme could provide with certain degree of security. However, the strong password are hard to memorize often leads owner to write down their password on paper or anything else to save them. By using a graphical authentication, the process of authentication will overcome this problem. The technique that will be implemented in the proposed system is Recognition-based Authentication technique. During registration process, user will select three pictures as a graphical password and then sort them according to the way that user want to see them in login phase. After that, user must login to the system and choose the graphical picture that user have selected during registration process and sort them accordingly in order to be authenticated by the system. This project will provide user with easier graphical password to be remembered and hard to guess by others.

INTRODUCTION
A password is a secret series pf characteristic that enables a user to access system, file, computer, or program. Usually, password sequence of characters such as letters, numbers, and symbols are used as a secret key for accessing a computer system or network (H. M. wood, 1997). Password are used also for validation, verification and authentication in electronic case. On system, each user must enter their password before computer will respond to the request. The password helps to unsure that unauthorized users cannot access the computer or system.
A password usually an alphanumeric between four and 16 characters. When a password is entered, the computer or system must not display the character on the screen to prevent other people to see it. The character usually represented in black dot. Password are hard to predict through guessing, brute-force cracking and dictionary attacks.

CONCLUSION
With this proposed system hopefully, it will easier the users to make an authentication and authorization process. With the selection of images also, it will provide a better security performance than traditional text- based password.
